Bar None

Basement bars are so Melbourne, but not when you head out to the 'burbs and especially in an area like Camberwell which was a dry zone until 2015. This is why the locals love Bar None so much and have been frequenting the neighbourhood's first cocktail bar since 2004. With over 300 spirits on the back bar, this is a haven for any of you whisky freaks out there who like to sit with a fine dram or two paired with a cheese or charcuterie platter. The toasted sandwiches also tend to be a popular late night snack, especially the Reuben with its classic filling of pastrami, mustard, swiss cheese and pickles.

Brother and sister duo Michael and Gen Cotter set up BarNone Camberwell in an area traditionally only known for its cafe scene and this has made the venue a real institution and the place to go to for high quality drinks. They also happen to own East of Everything upstairs where you can start your night with a more substantial meal and a few craft beers before heading down here for a nightcap. That being said, feel free to just hang here, while old black and white movies play in the background and you watch the expert bartenders mix and pour the perfect drinks.

With Camberwell Station across the road, Bar None is one of those places that's easy to get to from the city, warm and cozy over the winter months and equally great when the weather is hot and you can hideaway here in the basement and just be.......
